Good question. Let’s start with what it is not.
Coaching is not therapy. Therapy asks “Why?”
Coaching is not consulting. Consulting asks “How?”
Coaching asks “What?” What are your goals? What do you want to change? What does success look like? Coaching is your journey toward your goals guided by a neutral partner who will help you realize and clear obstacles to find your “next,” your “what,” whatever that is. And when you get there, you and your life are transformed, thus Transformation Coaching.
HOW DO I KNOW IF COACHING IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Our business relationship starts with a simple phone call so you can tell me your story and I can answer your questions and set your expectations. Together we’ll decide if we’re a match. Because this is an intense process, I will only accept a limited number of people into my practice at a time. So if we’re not a match, or if the timing doesn’t work for us, I’m happy to refer you to a trusted colleague.
By the way, there’s never a charge for the first exploratory conversation.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
Generically speaking, an ideal course of individual coaching runs a minimum of 12 weeks because it takes at least that long to create sustainable change. But some people just need a couple of sessions to meet an immediate need, and others choose to continue indefinitely. It all depends on your goals and your commitment to the process.
WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?
I was coached for one year following Hurricane Ike, and I credit that partnership with enabling every success my team and I had during that tumultuous time. I simply could not have shown up with strength every day without the focus, insight, strategies, encouragement, discipline, and accountability that my coach helped me find. My work was transformed and my life was forever emboldened. I have used the tools I learned in the process every day since. I predict the same for you.
